Scottish singer-songwriter Findlay Napier appears as special guest to Eddi Reader on her October 2014 Vagabond tour. He first met Eddi late into a snowy, January night at Glasgow’s famous Celtic Connections post-festival club at The Central Hotel.
Previously nominated for Composer of the Year at Scot’s Trad Music Awards, in 2013 Findlay Napier won the UK’s Burnsong Songwriting Competition before co-writing and recording his new album VIP with acclaimed songwriter/producer Boo Hewerdine (The Bible, Eddi Reader) at Kyoti Studios.
VIP stands for Very Interesting Persons, each song about a person who has lived an interesting life. Subjects include Hedy Lamaar the Hollywood actress who invented Bluetooth and Wifi, Geroge C Parker who sold the Brooklyn Bridge twice a week for thirty years, Valentina Tereshkova the first woman in space, Hiro Oonada who fought the 2nd World War well into the 1970's and a tribute to another of Napier’s favourite singer’s George Jones. The new album will be available from the concerts in October.
